This is a group of such talent it is mind boggling. But then, I knew you were headed for greatness the first time I met you. You were the first person I followed on YT. Seems like 100 years ago sometimes. Life has certainly taken Jim and I on a rollercoaster ride these past almost 4 years. We finally were able to buy a HOME in November last year with a VA Loan that he never used. What a blessing that was. I think I told you that mom and dad’s home was a total loss and had to be torn down. I have been grieving still, 4 years later, not just Hurricane Michael but other losses as well; family, friends (most of them COVID), we both had COVID in late January but had taken our vaccines. Jim got his a bit late in the game as he had to wait a considerable amount of time after finishing chemotherapy for the second time before he could get his. Luckly, our cases were fairly mild although mine hit my lungs pretty dang hard. First time I have ever had to use an inhaler and other breathing medications to breathe normally. Not a good feeling. I could go on and on but I will stop there. You know well that I also suffer from multiple “invisible illnesses”, such a perfect description of it. I understand your silent suffering and I am sure you understand mine. But, I digress.
I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you. You have come SO FAR with your artistry since first we met. Your wedding to Andy was incredibly beautiful and I am so happy you had the wedding of your dreams! I also send well wishes to Andy as you mentioned he has COVID right now. I do hope it is a mild case. Where I live it seems to just come in cycles. We don’t go out much and are not sure where we contracted it, but, we did. Continuing to try to stay reasonably healthy and eat properly to keep our diabetes under control. Other than that, we are trying to stay focused on finally maybe getting the house “in order” as there have been many bumps in the road, but making steady progress. I have not forgotten you or your other followers, just tied up with a lot of “have to’s” right now. I do have an entire room, the smaller third bedroom, for a craft room. Making slow but steady progress on that. Jim put my desk together yesterday. He had already put my small drafting table together a while back. Everything is just scattered about the room. We still have a garage at least half full of boxes we still have to go through; some our salvaged belongings, mom’s and dad’s, plus salvaged furniture and depression glass which mom collected in a small storage unit. It takes so much time and energy to get it all done. At close to 69 years old now, I just want to get settled in and “live” the rest of my life freely.
Keep up the good work folks. I will be back in the mix of things when I get more time. Probably very gradually, but the day will come. Just wanted you to know that I love you and have not forgotten any of you and the friendships we share (even if we aren’t in touch right now). I wish I had a bunch of money to spend in your shop Amanda, or support you in other ways, but we have really had to tighten up the budget with this house with our fixed income. Still working out the kinks but will figure out something. Perhaps one day I will get my turn to live my dream and have an Etsy Shop or something along those lines, but first, I need to work at learning and making things. We also have a lot of Farmer’s Markets around here on the weekends in several locations so that is another option. Just have to figure it out and learn a heck of a lot more about computers, streaming, equipment, etc., etc. Being retired for 10 years now, I have forgotten half of what I knew about computers and the technology keeps changing. Hope I learn to keep up. Keep up the good work and best wishes for a blessed and profitable rest of this year and better things to come in 2023. Give everyone my love and don’t be surprised if I show up one day out of the blue. Oh, and Jim will have a PET scan in September. He is currently in remission unless something turns up in that scan, which I don’t anticipate, then he will finally be able to get his Port (for chemotherapy infusions) removed. It has been in place for two years now. Time for it to go!!
